While we are unable to process roommate requests ahead of time, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences during the check-in process. If you wish to share a room with someone you already know, plan to arrive for check in together. Upon arriving on campus, check in at Black-Diallo-Miller Hall to drop off your belongings before checking in at the Tate Student Center for your orientation session. Although carts are available in many buildings, there is a limited number of carts available for students to use.

Well-being includes emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial dimensions. By applying this approach to healthy living residents will be able to form and practice habits that allow them to work toward healthy living. Fellow Dawg offensive tackle Amarius Mims also went in the first round.
McWhorter Hall
Call or visit us by the contract cancellation deadline (usually mid-November for fall graduation) to let us know. We want you to graduate—there is no penalty if you notify us by the deadline. Roommate option contracts are also available for independent graduate students wishing to share a two-bedroom apartment with another student of the same gender. Provisions of this site do not constitute a contract, express or implied between any applicant, student or faculty member and the University of Georgia or the University System of Georgia.
Mell Hall
Overnight parking is available in the Russell Hall lot (W10) and the West Campus Deck (W08). W07 will be reserved for residents moving out of Creswell and Black-Diallo-Miller beginning May 6 at 7 a.m. Residents may park in W07 an hour prior to their checkout appointment. Residents must show their checkout appointment confirmation email to the staff at the lot to park.
Graduate students who have been admitted to the University of Georgia can register for housing in The Dawg House. Registration alone does not commit you to living on campus, nor does it guarantee you a space. Students should plan to leave the residence halls May 8, 2024 at 12 p.m.
Payne Hall
Generally, renter’s insurance can protect you from loss due to fire, storms, smoke, vandalism, burglary, etc. University Housing is not liable for any damage to personal property. Residents who develop healthy relationships and build communities feel a stronger sense of belonging.
For example, to stay the whole summer you need to be enrolled in at least one May and one thru session class or one May, one short session I and one short session II class. Admitted transfer students may register for housing when registration for their enrollment term opens. During your appointment time, you will still be able to pull them into your round and assign them a space with you if you are in a roommate group. Only Brown, Building 1516, Busbee, Mary Lyndon, McWhorter, Myers, Oglethorpe, Payne, Reed, Rooker, Rutherford, Soule and Vandiver are available for room sign-up. All other halls are reserved for incoming first-year students and not available for returning residents. If your space is available, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us you are interested in keeping your room as long as you register by Jan. 21.
Most single rooms are in Payne and Building 1516, but private bedrooms are available in many halls, including the East Campus Village apartments, Soule, Reed and Myers Hall. Although living on campus is a requirement for your first year, students living in Clarke County and the surrounding counties can file for an exemption to the requirement. You will still need to go online to The Dawg House to begin the registration process.

When you choose a space, your roommate/s will be whoever else chooses the remaining spaces in that unit (first-year student/s with the same designated gender as you). University Housing will send out roommate information in late July once the room selection and room change processes conclude. For fall enrollment, roommate selection and searching occur in the spring. Your roommate profile in The Dawg House can be used to search for potential roommates with the online roommate search tool.
Registering for housing does not commit you to UGA, it only puts you in line for selecting the space of your choice. You will receive an email by the end of the week of your appointment time with your housing contract and deadline to execute it. You will sign/execute your contract after you choose your space or receive your assignment.
Located in the center of campus and within walking distance of multiple attractions, the Georgia Center is a prime destination for visitors. The Georgia Center also offers a free shuttle for guests that will take you around campus and Athens. While not a current Dawg, former UGA wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts as the 52nd overall draft pick. Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders made him their first round pick Thursday night at No. 13... Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs saw four players picked on Friday night during rounds two and three of the 2024 NFL Draft.
For your specific contract, contact University Housing or log into The Dawg House. Download a general copy of the housing contract below for review prior to registration. Each student must have their UGA OneCard or government-issued ID to check in. Students should know their student ID number and emergency contact information (preferably, this should be someone in the United States).
Built in 1920 and since renovated, Soule is best known for its Southern charm, rocking chair porches, large kitchens and a central parlor for social gatherings and watching television. Graduate and undergraduate students with families, spouses or domestic partners who have been admitted to the University of Georgia can register for housing. Current students already live in University housing or are currently enrolled at the University of Georgia and living off campus. Being in a roommate group allows both roommates to assign each other to a space (during appointment times or on same-hall day). If you find any room with an empty space you may reserve it for your roommate and vice-versa.
If you are moving to a summer school space, your space will be available May 11 at 2 p.m. If your summer space becomes available earlier, the residence hall director for the building will contact you via email. If you have any questions about your transition, please contact your residence hall director. Unless you are participating in commencement, you must checkout within 24 hours after your last final exam (residence halls and UV east only).
If you already have somebody in mind, you may select them once the roommate matching goes live. We’ll notify you when it gets closer with more detailed instructions. In lieu of in-person tours, our 360-degree video tours on YouTube allow you to be immersed in the environment of each residence hall. Bulldogs Friends+Family magazine is intended to provide students, friends, and family information and resources related to move in and living on campus. The Community Guide is a very important document—you actually agreed to abide by the policies found in the Community Guide when you executed your online housing contract.
